How to combine screenshots into one PDF (Windows, Mac, mobile)
Step-by-step instructions, bug reports, web page records — screenshots often need to be shared as one ordered document. Here is how to capture them on each OS and combine them into a single PDF in your browser.
Why a PDF beats loose screenshots
Sending several screenshots as separate files forces the recipient to open each one and guess the order. When sequence matters — instructions, error reports — one PDF communicates far better.
A PDF also fixes the page order, prints cleanly, and travels as a single file. For internal reports and support tickets it is the practical choice.
Capturing screenshots, briefly
Windows: Win + Shift + S selects a region (saved to Pictures > Screenshots); Win + PrintScreen captures the full screen. Mac: Cmd + Shift + 4 for a region, Cmd + Shift + 3 for the full screen.
iPhone uses Side button + Volume Up; Android typically Power + Volume Down. Captures are saved as PNG, which keeps text crisp — ideal for screenshots.
Combining them into a PDF in the browser
With our image-to-PDF tool there is nothing to install: ① open the tool, ② drag in the screenshots, ③ adjust the order with the up/down buttons, ④ pick a page size (A4 or Auto) and convert, ⑤ download the PDF.
Everything is processed inside your browser, so screenshots of internal systems or personal data never leave your machine — which matters for work use.
Choosing page size and orientation
Choose A4 for anything that may be printed or formally submitted. For on-screen reading, Auto (fit to image) shows each screenshot larger and easier to read.
Wide desktop screenshots shrink on portrait A4. If most captures are wide, use smaller margins or Auto sizing for a more readable result.
If the PDF gets heavy, compress it
Dozens of high-resolution captures can push a PDF into tens of megabytes. Use the PDF compressor when you hit attachment or upload limits.
Screenshots are mostly text, which suffers from aggressive compression — always open the compressed file and confirm the text is readable before sharing.
Going the other way: PDF pages as images
Need one page of a received PDF as an image for a slide or chat? PDF to PNG and PDF to JPG export pages as images.
Pick PNG for text-heavy pages and JPG for photo-heavy ones.
Summary: capture → order → convert
Capture, arrange, convert — three steps turn scattered screenshots into a document people can actually follow, entirely in the browser.
